The Arctic - Our last great wilderness
slant

Bring the Arctic to you.

Most of us will never visit America's Arctic, but what happens there impacts every corner of Planet Earth. The coastal plain of the Arctic is a nesting ground for birds from all 50 US states and six continents. Its wetlands are a globally significant carbon sink and climate mitigator. Its nutrient-dense ocean currents influence fisheries and abundance across the globe. No matter where you are, your life is directly tied to America's Arctic!

Now, you can experience this place worth protecting right in your own community. Read on to learn about this unique opportunity to bring the film - and so much more - to you!

Screening Event FAQ's

How long is the film?

44 minutes.

Does it cost money to host a screening event?

If your event is approved, there is no cost for the film or our assistance in providing you with the materials you need for a successful event. If you choose to host your event at a local venue or theater, any additional costs incurred are the responsibility of the host.

How can I find a venue to show the film?

Whether it is in your living room, or working with a community center to provide the space, finding a location that is convenient and also ready to work with your budget (or defray costs entirely) will be key to the success of your screening.  If you need a free or reduced-cost venue, consider non traditional options like your local library, a church hall, or local community college.

Can I advertise a screening to the public?

No. While screening events cannot be publicly promoted (no public Facebook events or posters at your local post office), invitations can be extended through “private” or “membership” channels. You are welcome to invite your friends and family, members of a local club or chapter, business associates, elected officials, etc.

Can I charge an entry fee as a fundraiser for a local non-profit or to defray costs?

No, the event must be free. The film distributor is making these grassroots advocacy screenings possible at no cost, while also placing the film commercially in theaters around the world. In order to keep the film available for free grassroots advocacy screenings, we must abide by the limitations set by the distributor to protect the film’s commercial footprint in museums and theaters around the world.
